Drinking can be a fun part of a night out, so always look out for each other: enjoy a great meal before and continue to eat throughout the evening; stay hydrated with water; get home safely and stay out of risky situations.
But if you or someone you’re with drinks too much, the fun can quickly end. No one wants to be the person that had to be looked after all night, had everyone worried – or worse.

Concerned about a friend?
If you’re ever concerned about someone’s drinking, the best thing you can do is to talk to them. It can be a hard topic to talk about, so it’s best to do it when you are both calm. You can find information and help on what to say here, as well as some of the warning signs to look out for.
