Like many drinks, alcohol contains calories – and too many calories can lead to weight gain. The amount of calories in an alcohol beverage vary widely by type, but should be counted in your daily calorie intake if you’re watching your weight.

  • 25ml serving of distilled spirit: 55 calories
  • 125ml glass of white wine: 90 calories
  • 1 pint of bitter: 170 calories
  • 1 pint of lager: 250 calories
